The Perception of Qi

The human body responds with astonishing delicacy to minor variations in environment and orientation. This phenomenon can be understood as the influence of geomagnetism—the invisible field of energy generated by the Earth.

Our physical tension and structural balance fluctuate unconsciously depending on how we position ourselves within this magnetic flow.

What is crucial here is not the intellectual analysis of geomagnetic mechanisms. Rather, it is the cultivation of sensory autonomy—the capacity to perceive the subtle transitions within one’s own body:

“As I face east, the connection between the soles of my feet and the ground shifts.”

“As I turn south, the residual strain in my shoulders quietly releases.”

No matter the state of the external environment or its magnetic forces, our practice is to remain a quiet observer of these influences, continuously returning to and regulating our own center.

This is precisely what it means to practice Qi.
